2009 Youth Royalty Contest
Pioneer Cavy Fanciers
PURPOSE
To encourage youth participation in the cavy fancy, to promote learning and to recognize youth knowledgeable about
cavies.
DIVISIONS
Note: Division is determined by the contestant’s age on the day of the contest.
KING / QUEEN: 13-18 yrs. old; PRINCE / PRINCESS: 9-12 yrs. old; COUNT / COUNTESS: 8 yrs. and under
RULES
1. Applications must be postmarked no later that February 1, 2010. If application is late, 5 points per day will be
deducted. Mail application to Nancy Richmond, P.O. Box 9713, Moscow, ID 83843-0179. Any questions, call Nancy at
208-883-7906.
2. Applicants must be available for all events scheduled on Saturday, February 27 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the
Karcher Mall, 1502 Caldwell Blvd, Nampa, Idaho,.
3. Each applicant will participate in the following activities: a completed application, an interview, a written exam, an
identification contest and a judging contest. However, applicants in the Count/Countess division will compete in
showmanship instead of judging.
4. Only Count/Countess applicants may have help completing this application.
5. Parents are not allowed to accompany the applicant during any phase of the contest, but an adult/guardian must
remain on grounds if assistance is required.
6. Count/Countess applicants will be provided help in reading their test. Any other applicants who require
assistance with the reading of their test shall also be provided with such help.
7. The winners will be determined by compiling the scores for the individual events to obtain a total score for each
applicant.
8. Winners will be announced and awards presented the evening of the contest. Awards will be given to the
winners of each division as well as the runners-up. Each applicant will receive a participation award. Only members of
Pioneer Cavy Fanciers will be granted scholarships. Membership may be obtained before the contest.
9. The contest is modeled after the ACBA and ARBA national youth royalty contests and will follow ACBA and
ARBA guidelines.
