Show and 4-H animals are priced according to quality and availability, usually $15-25.
Pet pigs:
Guinea pigs often get to be from 4 to 10 years old depending on the care they have received and how much they have
been bred. Mature pigs are mostly calmer and easier to handle than babies and youngsters. Show and breeder pigs are
used to being handled when having their nails trimmed, for health checks, for shows and judging, when moved from cage
to cage etc. Mature pigs also tend to have more pronounced personalities and can make great pets.
Baby and young: Sow: $17, boar: $14.
Retired breeder/show animal, (usually 1-2 years old): Sow: $7, boar: $5.
These prices are guiding and may change according to circumstances.
I only sell pet pigs in pairs or as company for a pig/pigs you already own, and only of the same gender. I also require that
the guinea pigs are kept in a proper cage and that an adult person has responsibility for the animals, even if children are
the daily care takers. In exchange for these limitations I provide advise for the life of the animal and hope to assure a
positive pet owning experience and a happy retirement for my piggies. The animals are given preventive treatment for lice
etc and, naturally, I know their medical history. I also provide pet sitting when my schedule allows it, which is most of the
time.
